The Hunger Games

Great job, you two. Just keep it up in the district until the cameras are gone. We should be okay.

“He’s still smiling when he settles the second on my head, but his eyes, just inches from mine, are as unforgiving as a snake’s. That’s when I know that even though both of us would have eaten the berries, I am to blame for having the idea. I’m the instigator. I’m the one to be punished.”

- The Hunger Games, p.364

These are questions to be unraveled back home, in the peace and quiet of the woods, when no one is watching. Not here with every eye upon me. But I won’t have that luxury for who knows how long. And right now, the most dangerous part of the Hunger Games is about to begin.

Book One / Chapter 26

The major conflict in this section surrounds Katniss. After leaving the arena, she is confused. It is almost like a case of post-traumatic stress. Though, the feelings are mainly involving her emotions. She is finding it difficult to distinguish whether her romantic feelings for Peeta were real, or whether they were just a show that the two put on in order to win the game. Katniss feels as though the feeling were and still are real for Peeta. Though, she is unsure.

Her rebellion towards the Capitol has put her in a very unsafe position. The people of the capitol do not like to be made a mockery of. Her only chance in saving her self and her loved ones is to play it off like all of the crazy and rebellious things that she did during the game were out of mad love for Peeta. If the Capitol found out that she was fully aware of what she was doing, she would surly be made an example of.
